About This Site

Do you love your job?
Do you hate your job?
Does your answer change every day?

However you feel about your job today, you can be certain of one thing: Over the course of your career, you’ll experience a variety of challenges. That's probably not a big surprise.

Organizations aren’t good or bad. The people inside organizations make all the difference. Your relationships with others - and the interactions you have every day – determine how successful and satisfied you’ll be in your job. What's key is your fit and your ability to “align” with others in an organization. It's about you, being uniquely you, but not so different that you can't align on things that matter. A red apple in a sea of green apples is distinct, but not so different that it doesn't fit. Most of the time, you have to work at this.

When you lack alignment in the workplace,
it’s like eating your soul for breakfast every morning.

When you feel like you're eating your soul for breakfast, it’s usually because you’re experiencing one or more of the following challenges.
  • Your values are different than your co-workers or boss.
  •  Your integrity is being stretched to its limits.
  •  Your relationships are complicated or challenging.
  •  You feel pressure to conform to behaviors that aren’t your own.
  •  You aren’t sure how to navigate difficult situations that arise.

Leaving Isn't Always The Answer

When you’re struggling at work, you can certainly choose to resign your position. The thing is, you’ll find similar challenges in another workplace too. Challenging people and circumstances exist in every environment. Your key to success and satisfaction is less about finding the perfect job - and more about managing challenging situations on your own terms.
